During your holiday break at Coolattin Lodge you will be in the comfortable traditional surroundings of our courtyard houses.
The guest accommodation is in the original farm staff cottages in the courtyard – the Dairymaid’s, Groom’s and Saddler’s houses – which have been beautifully but sympathetically refurbished, retaining the traditional features, fabric and even the patina that have endured for nearly 200 years. However the conveniences of modern living have been added to make your stay comfortable with central heating, fully equipped modern appliance kitchens and wood burning stoves for ambience and atmosphere. Each house is spacious having 3 bedrooms, large country type kitchen / dining areas, large sitting rooms and cloak rooms / storage for equipment, bicycles and other sports gear. Six people can be comfortably accommodated in each of the 3 houses. Extra guests may be catered for on request.

The Dairymaid's House

The dairymaid's house is spacious, having three tastefully furnished double bedrooms, a very large sitting/reception room ( also suitable to seat 40 to 50 people for dining or 60 people for a lecture), a well equipped kitchen and dining area with wood burning stove, spacious hallway and a cloakroom. The bathrooms are en suite, one with tandem access to 2 bedrooms.
There is a tiled patio area through a French window from the sitting room with access to herb garden, lawn and small orchard. There is private parking and entrance to the dairymaids house. All accommodation is on one level.
The Saddler's House

The saddler's house, where craftsmen worked daily to repair and maintain the tack for the farm workhorses and saddle horses, has three double bedrooms, one with king size double bed and two single beds in each of the other two bedrooms. There is a large sitting room with one double sofa bed should it be required. The bathrooms are en suite, one dedicated and one with tandem entrance to two bedrooms. The country style kitchen/dining area is large with well equipped kitchen and wood burning stove for additional heating and atmosphere. This house also has a large utility/ storage room suitable for keeping bicycles, golf clubs or other sports equipment. Farm buildings housing livestock are visible from the kitchen window and from one of the bedroom windows.
The Groom's House

Formerly these quarters housed the staff who were responsible for grooming, feeding, cleaning of tack and general care of the horses in the yard which were as important to the viability of the farm as the tractor is today. There are three double bedrooms in this house, two large bedrooms with two double beds in each room and one further bedroom with one double bed and a single bed also if required. The bathrooms are en suite, one dedicated and one with tandem entrance to two bedrooms. The kitchen/dining area is large, with old world charm, being little changed in appearance from the time when it served as a general cooking/dining area for all the farm yard workers even up to the mid 1970s. It has a large wood burning stove sitting in the huge open fireplace which contributes greatly to the atmosphere. French windows lead onto a patio area for use of guests in the grooms house. The cooking facilities are now modern and efficient. This house also has a large utility room with storage for sports gear/bicycles and golf clubs. The kitchen/dining room and the utility room (with toilet) are on the ground floor. The large sitting room, bedrooms and main toilet facilities are on the first floor.
